Weary

At the beginning of the Pandemic (remember that?!) I sent out an email to my clients that was a reminder that they are allowed to have joy.  Even in the midst of the unknown, chaos and world shutting down - we are still allowed to have joy.

That is still true.

And.

And we are also allowed to be weary.  I think the collective consciousness could be - we are weary.  Weary of isolation, fear, the news, the restriction, the exhaustion, discourse...all of it.  We are weary and it’s okay.  After a long day, marathon, journey - whatever word you want to use - we’d be considered assholes if we told the person on the journey to suck it up and get it together.  We’d never do that.  We’d never pat them on the back after such a long effort and say - well Gary (again - insert whatever name you want to use), the lawn is pretty long and needs to be mowed and we are out of groceries - could you stop and grab some on the way home?

What do we do when people are weary?

What could we do when we are weary?

Tenderness. Grace. Compassion. Love. Water. Nutrition. Hugs. Connection. Kindness. Oh - that is just for us.

Now what of those beautiful actions can we generously give to those around us?

We have all been on a very long and very different journey.  And we are weary.

May however you feel - be felt - and may you begin healing your weary self with as much tenderness and compassion as you can.  You are worthy of it.  I promise.
